Telehealth Sydney

A program that will help you

Are you searching for a clinic offering services for mental health and wellbeing that includes online consultations using Telehealth? Sydney-based Direct Focus Solutions (DFS) could be the answer. Using this technology allows our therapists to connect outside of the office to patients in their own homes, workplaces or other locations. It is a convenient solution for patients so they don’t have to travel but also brings our services to a wider community so that anyone in need of mental health support can obtain it easily online.

Sometimes referred to as telemedicine or teletherapy, Telehealth enables people to access expert healthcare via an online video call. It is a form of video conferencing that facilitates a real consultation between practitioner and patient—the only difference is that you are not in the same room.

Telehealth services for  Sydney-based appointments, or for clients across Australia, can be very beneficial in terms of mental health therapies by improving access to care. Online therapy is one of the most popular forms of Telehealth as it enables people to meet with their therapist from anywhere in the world, as long as they have a stable internet or phone connection.

Many aspects of mental health can be addressed with online therapy, including anxiety, depression, stress, obsessions and compulsions. Approaches such as cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) are also suited to an online environment. We also provide telehealth services for occupational therapy and speech therapy. Our therapy assistants can provide in-person support to better enhance telehealth therapies.

Our practitioners at DFS are reliable with appropriate qualifications and expertise in a number of fields, including psychology, occupational therapy, speech therapy, nursing and other disciplines to provide our patients with a multidisciplinary approach.

We know that everyone’s experience of mental health difficulties is different, and our tailor-made approach is designed not just to treat or mask symptoms, but to pinpoint the cause of them so individuals can recognise and learn to cope with them in a way that doesn’t interfere with their emotional wellbeing.

Telehealth in Sydney and around Australia is proving to be a popular option in the field of mental health because:

  • It can get around one of the basic reasons people do not seek help—lack of access to resources

  • Mental health services can be accessed in a timely, convenient ways

  • It is discrete

  • Remote monitoring can improve patient engagement

  • It improves patient satisfaction, with several studies confirming patients are happy with Telehealth services and would use them again

  • It can circumvent the wait-times in clinics

If you are comfortable with the technology, and your practitioner has indicated that Telehealth will work for your particular therapy, it could be right for you. It enables those who live far away, have difficulty leaving home or have busy schedules to benefit from mental health care without leaving their home.

If, however, you are not comfortable with technology, have little privacy at home or feel uneasy sharing personal matters over the internet or phone then an in-person consultation may be a better option for you.

Our Telehealth Services

We can actually offer telehealth for all services. This is dependent on the client’s comfortability and in some cases we may only be able to administer telehealth with a support worker or therapy assistant.
