To deliver her supports, Valentina draws upon her strong skill-set in communication, as well as her prior experience supporting individuals with a diverse range of needs. She aims to build trusting relationships that promote independence, community participation, and positive outcomes throughout each participant’s journey with DFS.
Valentina is a support worker for DFS who is based in Wollongong. She feels motivated through helping others improve their quality of life and participate meaningfully within their communities.
Valentina’s approach focuses on identifying each participant’s individual goals, preferences, and needs. She values building positive relationships through active listening, respectful communication, and genuine collaboration. Valentina strives to encourage independence while providing the right level of guidance and practical support to help participants build confidence and achieve meaningful outcomes.
Originally from Italy, Valentina has both Italian and Colombian heritage, and speaks Spanish and Italian fluently. Outside of work, she enjoys long walks, reading, cars and driving, martial arts, going to the gym, hiking, attending live theatre and music events, and spending time with family and friends.
