Pierina aims to deliver respectful and responsive assistance that helps participants feel heard, involved, and supported. Drawing on her broad experience across disability, aged care, and community settings, she aims to help each participant maintain choice, work towards their goals, and participate meaningfully in daily life.
Pierina is a support worker for DFS who is based in Wollongong. She has experience within disability supports, aged care, community care, Supported Independent Living, respite care, and palliative care. Pierina finds great satisfaction in helping participants work towards their goals and achieve meaningful outcomes in their everyday lives.
Pierina applies a person-centred approach throughout her supports. She takes the time to ask each participant how they would like tasks and activities to be completed, ensuring their preferences, choices, and individual routines guide the support provided.
Outside of work, Pierina enjoys reading, walking her dog, and swimming.
