Support Worker

Alicia applies an empathetic, flexible, and person-centred approach throughout her supports. She values honest and direct communication and understands the importance of adapting her approach when participants are experiencing more challenging days.
Alicia is a support worker for DFS who is based in Wollongong. She is interested in social work and counselling, and, while new to support work, is experienced in working with people of various ages and abilities.
Alicia aims to create an environment where participants feel comfortable being themselves and can enjoy activities that reflect their interests and preferences. Drawing on her lived experience with Autism and ADHD, Alicia brings personal insight and understanding to supporting neurodivergent participants.
Outside of work, Alicia enjoys spending time with animals, watching a wide variety of movies, and playing Dungeons & Dragons, board games, and card games. She also enjoys exploring new places, trying new activities, and connecting with others through conversation and shared interests.
