Support Worker
(Sydney)
Dilana applies a person-centred, strengths-based, and holistic approach throughout her supports. She actively listens and understands each participant’s priorities, preferences, abilities, and experiences. She believes participants should be supported to express their views, make their own choices, and maintain control over decisions affecting their lives.
Dilana is a support worker for DFS who is based in Eastern Sydney. She has experience in disability and family support, as well as education and childcare. Dilana is passionate about helping people feel safe, valued, and confident, and believes meaningful support involves working alongside each client as they build independence and work towards their life goals.
Dilana works collaboratively with clients to break these goals into realistic and meaningful steps, recognise strengths, celebrate progress, and develop greater confidence and independence. She advocates for each client, adapting her communication and approach so that they feel heard, respected, and empowered.
Outside of her work, Dilana enjoys discovering new places, visiting botanical gardens, reading, and trying food from different cultures.
