Sarah adopts a client-centred approach to therapy, with an emphasis on client advocacy. She applies feedback from clients and their stakeholders to tailor each client’s plan and their therapy to support their individual needs. Through PBS and other techniques, Sarah shapes client environments to promote success in daily life.
Sarah is a Behaviour Support Practitioner based in the Illawarra. Originally from the United States, she has a background in Applied Behavioural Analysis and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. After moving to Australia, Sarah integrated her education and experience into the world of NDIS and Positive Behaviour Support (PBS). She continues her professional development with special interests in women’s health, autism, traumatic brain injuries, and learning disabilities.
In Sarah’s career, she has supported participants of all ages from children to adults, with a wide range of abilities and complexities. She has successfully supported clients with presentations such as Autism, ADHD, Anxiety, Global Development Delay, mild to severe Intelligence Disorders, Schizophrenia, Down Syndrome, Traumatic Brain Injuries, and Dementia. Sarah utilises her first-hand knowledge of Disability Support Work in Supported Independent Living environments to create client-centred staff training that educates on PBS strategies and truly understands the day-to-day barriers SIL staff face when supporting our participants.
