Behaviour Support Practitioner
and Therapy Assistant
(Central West)
Ben is able to form a rapport with clients to build effective treatment plans and provide ongoing support and progression monitoring. He values client autonomy and actively involves them in decision-making throughout their therapeutic journey, ensuring their needs guide the direction of all his work.
Starting his journey at DFS as a therapy assistant and support worker, Ben gained endorsement as a Behaviour Support Practitioner and now performs this role within our multidisciplinary clinical team. Being based in the NSW Central West, Ben helps to assist a diverse body of clients throughout this region through the creation and implementation of Behaviour Support Plans to address their behaviours of concern.
Ben is passionate about person-centred supports, and using these as a tool to build a greater sense of purpose and independent agency among his clients. He tailors each of his sessions to place the individual in control of their therapy. He has previously obtained a Bachelor of Social Science and Sociology, and has experience in disability support work, as well as facilitating community access.
