What is Telehealth?
Telehealth services (meaning “health over a distance”) is the use of telecommunications technologies to remotely link clients with their clinicians or support workers. The technologies used include phones, as well as internet-based communication applications. Telehealth essentially allows you as a client to communicate and interact with our specialists remotely (from your home), without having to visit our clinics in person.
Originally, Telehealth services in Australia were only available to clients who needed healthcare and support in rural or regional areas; people who had normally had to travel unreasonable distances in order to access service locations. However, in response to the ever-changing circumstances of the modern world, the Australian Government and services like medicare have expanded the availability of Telehealth to a much wider audience.
How can Telehealth help me?
Telehealth can be used for a number of purposes, such as exchanging medical information and client remote monitoring. But most importantly: Telehealth helps our clients to consult with their clinicians or support workers without having to meet face-to-face. This is why telehealth is so important to us at Direct Focus Solutions; it allows us to continue servicing the community through utilising communications tools that are mainstream and widely accessible.
Through Telehealth we can implement home programs and remote support for our clients over both the short and long term, all while maintaining appropriate social distancing as situations demand. If you feel you cannot access our quality care and services in person for an extended period of time, due to either temporary or permanent circumstances, our Telehealth services are here to help you.
What Telehealth services do we offer?
