Mental Health Sydney

Mental Health, Psychology and Disability Services in Sydney

Direct Focus Solutions provides mental health, psychology and disability services in Sydney for both children and adults. We offer support for a range of problems that affect emotional wellbeing, assisting individuals with physical and intellectual disabilities to enable them to cope more effectively.

We have offices located in accessible locations across Sydney—in Kingsford, Parramatta and Norwest, as well as south of Sydney in Wollongong. However, we also offer Telehealth appointments to improve access to our services for all patients, whether or not they live in Sydney or somewhere else across Australia.

There are all sorts of reasons why people may want to seek professional help for psychological issues. The demands of everyday life can sometimes be overwhelming, particularly if you are coping with an illness, or have problems within your family or relationship. At other times, you may need support to cope with a life-changing event, such as the death of someone you are close to, job loss or divorce.

Sometimes, people may start indulging in damaging behaviours or increasing their intake of alcohol or drugs. If your behaviour is causing problems for you or those around you, it may be time to seek some professional support to address the underlying issues that are contributing to your harmful conduct.

Therapy is not just for people who are experiencing difficulties. It can help you to get to know yourself better and to grow. However, if you are experiencing any of the following signs, you may benefit from seeing a psychologist:

  • Difficulty concentrating which may be detrimental to carrying out everyday tasks or keeping focused on work.
  • Excessive worrying and feeling on edge.
  • Feeling of helplessness, sadness or being overwhelmed.
  • Your problems do not seem to improve despite your efforts.
  • You are causing harm to yourself or others through your behaviour, eg. drug use, drinking too much alcohol or being aggressive .
  • Using substances, such as drugs or alcohol, seems to be the only way you can cope.
