Support Worker
(Sydney)
Zahra adapts the way she communicates and the activities she does based on what works best for each individual, always keeping their support plan at the forefront of her mind. She always prioritises consistency to help clients feel safe and build the kind of relationships where real progress can happen.
Zahra became a support worker due to her life experience supporting a sibling with autism. She has extensive experience working with children within school, camp, and activity settings, supporting teens and young adults with disability, as well as supporting the elderly in aged care settings.
In her practice, Zahra applies a person-centred approach where they follow the participant’s lead and ensure their goals, preferences, and comfort are always the priority. For Zahra, building trust comes first – as they find that once someone feels at ease, they are much more open to trying new things and working towards what matters to them.
