Support Worker

As a support worker, Kate works closely with participants, their families, and other relevant stakeholders. She aims to build strong, trusting relationships with each participant while providing consistent, respectful support that encourages independence, community engagement, and meaningful progress towards individual goals.
Kate is a support worker for DFS who is based in Wollongong and the Illawarra. She is passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of others and believes that meaningful change is often achieved through small, consistent acts of support and encouragement.
Kate applies a compassionate and person-centred approach throughout her supports. She enjoys building positive relationships with participants and values creating an environment where people feel respected, heard, and empowered to work towards their goals. She is motivated by seeing the positive impact that quality support can have on an individual’s independence, confidence, and overall wellbeing.
Outside of work, Kate enjoys spending time outdoors and participating in a variety of activities including hiking, camping, swimming at the beach, and climbing. She appreciates opportunities to stay active and explore new environments.
