Valerie Booth

Support Worker

Valerie loves working with people to better enable them to achieve their goals. She is interested in reading books, sports, and supporting her grandchildren. Valerie works with clients in the areas of mental health, disability, and aged care. She firmly believes that any client can achieve their goals with enough support and encouragement.

When supporting her clients, Valerie shows a genuine interest in them as a person and approaches them with empathy. This includes encouraging and supporting them in their hobbies, talents, and acquisition of skills. She believes that an ideal approach to support work involves encouraging not only the individual, but engaging them within their community. It is also important to utilise all resources available to best support them, such as their family and friends.

Valerie has worked in the field of support work for over 25 years. She has certification in mental health and addictions, disability, and patient care. She believes that learning is an ongoing process and is always looking for ways to learn new skills.
