Sarah Napier
Support Worker
About
Sarah is currently studying a Masters in Teaching (primary) at the University of Wollongong. She was inspired to start a career in education due to her grandmother, who is a primary educator in Sarah’s hometown, Young. Sarah has been volunteering in primary schools for the last five years. Specifically, she works in support units to teach children with learning difficulties literacy and numeracy.
Techniques
Experiences
Sarah initially studied a Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in Accounting and Finance. However, she later decided to follow a different path; one that would allow her to make positive changes in society by helping to develop future minds. Sarah has experience teaching children in schools who present a range of issues. This includes Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD), Down syndrome, as well as autism. She takes the approach that all students are different, and that carefully observing their behaviour helps to determine the way to engage them.
