Techniques

Lidcombe Program, It Takes Two to Talk Hanen Program.

Terissa believes in a positive approach when it comes to engaging with clients. She always endeavours to engage with her clients using their own interests as a part of a therapy session. In doing this it allows her to help them open up and feel comfortable in an unfamiliar setting. She aims to make practical and functional goals for her clients and tries to remove the clinical aspect out of her therapy sessions where she can. This helps to promote the best overall outcome for her clients.

Other techniques she uses is the use of educational apps, table based activities, books and a number of games throughout a therapy session. This helps her clients, especially children to relax enough to start talking and engaging in the session.
