About Dean

Dean provides advanced psychological assessment, therapy and counselling to children, individuals, couples and families. He assists clients in their development of insight, emotional awareness and better communication. His clients learn and apply advanced psychological strategies to resolve difficulties, enhance the quality of relationships and optimise their lives.

Techniques

Dean provides psychological assessment and therapy for a range of psychological presentations and mental health conditions, including:

  • School and career difficulties (including bullying)

  • ​Stress, anxiety, anger and depression

  • Behavioural problems (including severely challenging behaviours)

  • Relationship issues (including LGBTQI+)

  • Educational issues and learning difficulties

  • Exposure to critical incidents and trauma (such as childhood abuse, child deaths, allegations, and sexual assault)

  • Loss, grief and bereavement

  • Sleep problems and sexual health issues

  • Substance use issues

  • Eating disorders, weight management and body image issues

  • Injury rehabilitation (especially brain injury, and carer support)

  • Psychological health reviews and return to work assessments

  • Coaching support for leaders to optimise engagement, performance, individual success and business outcomes

Experience

Dean has over 25 years experience as a Counselling Psychologist working in senior clinical leadership roles in various government agencies, private practices and corporate sectors, including NSW police and health services, and the Department of Community Service.

Qualifications

  • Masters Degree in Counselling Psychology​

  • Fellow – Australian Psychological Society College of Counselling Psychologists​

  • Endorsed with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Counselling Psychologist reflecting advanced skills and training in assessment and therapeutic interventions​

  • Trained supervisor of psychologists studying the 4+2 pathway and postgraduate students

  • Dean has supervised Counselling, Forensic and Organisational Masters students from the University of Sydney, University of New South Wales, Macquarie University and University of Western Sydney

  • Kingsford
